THE MOVIE STAR is a laugh out loud black (romantic) comedy.

Logline A washed up movie star learns that character is more than just something you play when he falls for the young filmmaker he tried to destroy.

Synopsis:

Has-been actor (and total prick) CLIVE RUSSELL is so over.  Star struck young director HONOR LOVEJOY is the next big thing.  After a humiliating arrest, Clive’s girlfriend, the painfully thin TV star TIFF MILLER dumps him.  Desperate for work, Clive blackmails his father, legendary producer and womanizer OLIVER RUSSELL, for the lead in Honor’s first studio film.  Honor and Clive hate each other on sight.  Convinced Honor slept her way onto the film, and jealous of his father’s interest in her, Clive sets out to humiliate them both by seducing Honor on tape.  But, before he can bring himself to release it, he discovers a painful secret they share.

Under Honor’s direction, Clive’s star starts to rise and he begins to fall for her.  When buzz of his Oscar worthy comeback gets out, Tiff wants him back with a vengeance.  She conspires with the ruthless and colorful PAPARAZZI DAN to release the sex tape and uncover the details of Honor’s shameful past.  To save Honor, and her Hollywood dream, Clive becomes her knight in shining armor (literally), and in the process steps up to his destiny as THE MOVIE STAR.
